
The Matadors from Mathieu-Martin High School won a senior boys’ basketball game against the Royals from Riverview High School on Tuesday night, with a final score of 79 to 76. The game was close, with the Royals leading 42 to 41 at halftime.
Cédric Thériault was the top scorer for the Matadors with an impressive 40 points. He was followed by Niko Desroches with 11 points, and Maxime Dorais and Zachary Amédé, each with 8 points.
For the Royals, the leading scorers were Chase Nagle with 17 points, Jacob Reed with 15 points, and Zach Eastary with 11 points.
Next, the Matadors will be participating in the Rothesay Basketball Classic over the weekend. Their first game will be on Friday at 3:30 PM against the RedHawks.
JV Basketball
In junior high school basketball, the Olympiens from L’Odyssée were defeated on Tuesday night with a score of 90 to 85. Giaccomo Pratt was the top scorer for the Olympiens with 33 points, followed by Austin Lutes with 25 points.
