To get the deal done, the Sea Dogs are sending defenceman Vincent Croteau, their first-round pick in the 2027 QMJHL Draft, and a second-round pick acquired from Drummondville for 2028 back to Sherbrooke.
Sea Dogs President and General Manager Trevor Georgie says Delarosbil is a player they’ve had their eye on for quite some time.
“Brandon is a player that we have coveted for a while. He has offensive tools and instincts, and he competes. He fits with our age group and will grow with our core over the next two seasons.”
The St-Lambert, Quebec native put up 22 points last season with the Phoenix, scoring eight goals and adding 14 assists in 60 games. Among defencemen born in 2008, that ranked him second in the entire QMJHL.
The 5-foot-11, 178-pound blueliner was selected 31st overall in the second round of the 2024 QMJHL Draft, and he’s already committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Nebraska Omaha once his junior career is complete.
The Sea Dogs clearly see Delarosbil as a key piece of their future, adding a young offensive defenceman who can continue to develop alongside the club’s core over the next couple of seasons.
