Chargers Ready to Welcome Fans Back for Another Exciting Season

The countdown to a new year of Crandall Chargers athletics is on.

After a summer away from competition, Chargers teams are preparing to return to campus, bringing a busy fall schedule filled with home openers across soccer, cross country, boxing, volleyball, and basketball. From longtime supporters to first-time fans, there will be plenty of opportunities to cheer on Crandall student-athletes throughout the season.

The action gets underway on Friday, September 12, when the Chargers Soccer programs open their home schedules against UNB Saint John. The women’s squad will kick things off at 1:00 p.m., with the men’s team following at 3:15 p.m.

One of the most anticipated dates on the calendar arrives on Saturday, October 3, which could be considered one of the biggest home sports days of the fall. The Chargers Cross Country teams will compete on home soil, with the women’s race beginning at 12:00 p.m. and the men’s race at 1:00 p.m.

The event carries special significance for the university, as it will be the first cross country meet ever hosted on the Crandall University campus. The historic occasion will give athletes the chance to compete in front of a home crowd while providing fans with a unique viewing experience right on campus.

The excitement won’t end there. Later that afternoon, the spotlight shifts to the ring as the Chargers Boxing team hosts its annual home show beginning at 2:00 p.m., creating a full day of competition and school spirit.

Volleyball season follows later in October, beginning with the Chargers Women’s Volleyball team hosting the Mount Allison Mounties on Friday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m.

Just a week later, the Chargers Men’s Volleyball team takes to its home court for the first time this season when they welcome the St. Thomas Tommies on Saturday, October 31, with first serve set for 4:30 p.m.

Basketball fans won’t have to wait much longer after that. The Chargers open their home basketball schedule on Saturday, November 7, against Holland College. The women’s game will tip off at 2:00 p.m., followed by the men’s matchup at 4:00 p.m.

With home openers spread across every varsity program, the fall promises to be an exciting one for Crandall athletics. Whether it’s on the soccer pitch, the cross-country course, the volleyball court, the boxing ring, or the basketball floor, Chargers fans will have no shortage of chances to support their teams and celebrate another year of university sports.
