There are 29 active wildfires across New Brunswick, with 6 classified as out of control. There has been no change in wildfire status since the last update. Response crews remain actively engaged.

Smoke is being reported across the province. If you smell smoke, stay alert. If you see visible smoke or fire, call 9-1-1 immediately.

🚨 Evacuation Advisory remains in place for Fire 271 (Lavillette). Residents should be ready to evacuate on short notice.
🔥 Riverview
- Fire Ban: All open fires are banned. Barbecues and propane/natural gas fire pits are allowed, as they do not produce sparks or embers.
- Trail Closures:
- Mill Creek Nature Park: All trails closed.
- Dobson Trail: Closed.
- Riverfront Trail & Gunningsville Trail: Remain open.
- Events: Perseids Meteor Shower Party and Block Party for Wards 3&4 have been cancelled.
- Emergency Readiness: Residents are urged to maintain a 72-hour emergency kit and review evacuation plans.
🔥 Salisbury
- Fire Ban: All bonfires and fireworks are prohibited. Violations will result in fines under the Fire Prevention By-law.
- Trail Closures:
- Woodland Trail, boardwalk, and Parkin Street connector: Closed.
- Highland Park’s Wetland Trail: Remains open (outside wooded areas).
- Additional Precautions:
- Avoid parking on dry grass.
- Dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.
- Limit use of spark-producing machinery (e.g., lawn mowers).
- Emergency Services: Salisbury Fire Rescue is monitoring provincial alerts and assisting neighbouring departments.
🔥 Sussex
- Provincial Restrictions Apply:
- Complete burn ban across New Brunswick.
- All Crown land closed: No hiking, camping, fishing, or vehicle use in wooded areas.
- Camping allowed only in designated campgrounds.
- Private landowners are strongly encouraged to follow the same restrictions.
- Municipal Response: Sussex is expected to follow provincial guidelines. Residents should avoid wooded areas and comply with fire safety measures.
