
The NBIAA Basketball season has tipped off in New Brunswick with a couple of JV games on Tuesday night. The Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders opened their regular season with a game versus Harrison Trimble High School. Harrison Trimble was victorious in a hard fought battle that ended in a 87-79 final score.
In other NBIAA Jr. Varsity basketball action last night, Moncton High School played Riverview High School. Both teams played hard in their season opener, however it was RHS that came away with the victory 79-70.
In the third game of the night, Odyssey had a good second half with a 68-54 victory over the Matadors of Mathieu-Martin in the opening game of the junior men’s basketball. Austin Lutes led the Olympians’ offense with 26 points. Nik Ahmady scored 24 for the Matadors.
