
The New Brunswick Basketball season in greater Moncton tipped off Thursday night at Edith Cavell School. In a boys U14 match-up between the Moncton Basketball Association’s Hawks and TH Sports’ 506 Elite, coached by Ryan Lacey, the latter lived up to their moniker by taking an early lead which they never relinquished.
Anthony Carson lead all scorers with 18pts. Owen Copeland contributed 13pts.
U14 teams will play roughly 28 games between now and March 17th. Throughout the season scores are reported to BNB to ensure proper seeding for the provincial finals in the spring.
The Hawks are back in action this weekend with a game versus the 506 Shamrocks scheduled for Sunday morning at Lou McNarin School in Dieppe. 506 Elite coached by Ryan Lacey will play the Port City Kings next at 10:30 . The Kings will play the Bathurst Blazers at noon and 506 Elite will play Bathurst at 1:30.
